Ferrer spent his development years at Catalan Tennis Federation in Barcelona before spending nine months at Equelite, Juan Carlos Ferreroˇ¦s Academy in Villena. His father is an accountant and his mother is a teacher and the Spaniard loves reading, keeping every book he reads. His other passion is football and his favourite team is Barcelona. He is one of only seven Spaniards to end a season ranked in the top 5 since the computer rankings started in 1973 and he was part of the Spainish Davis Cup team that won the finals in 2008 and 2009.
